Video Surveillance System

RailTel is currently executing the provision of an IP camera-based Video Surveillance System (VSS) at 4625 railway stations out of which 2077 stations have been commissioned. This initiative aims to significantly strengthen the security infrastructure at stations by enabling real-time monitoring and recording through high-quality IP cameras.

In addition to installing new systems, RailTel is also working on the integration of various standalone video surveillance systems that were earlier installed by different Zonal Railways. This integration will allow for centralized access and monitoring of video feeds and recordings at the Divisional and Zonal Headquarters. The move is expected to enhance situational awareness, improve emergency response times, and provide better overall security management across Indian Railways.
